At HH Feeders, we carefully plan our shipping schedule to help ensure your live feeders arrive healthy and ready to feed.

We ship orders Monday through Wednesday to help minimize the amount of time live insects spend in transit over the weekend.

📬 UPS & USPS Shipping

Due to ongoing changes within the USPS processing and transportation network, we have begun using UPS 1-Day shipping whenever it is available for your address.

When UPS 1-Day is available, it may be the preferred shipping option for live feeder orders because shorter transit times can help reduce the stress and temperature exposure associated with shipping live insects.

USPS shipping may still be available for some locations depending on the options provided at checkout.

🌡️ Weather Protection

Please add the appropriate heat packs, insulation, or ice packs to your order based on your local weather conditions.

Extreme temperatures can be harmful to live feeders during transportation. Proper weather protection helps maintain safer temperatures while your package is in transit.

When ordering, please consider the weather conditions at both the shipping location and your delivery location.

📦 Why Are We Moving Away From USPS?

USPS has been making significant changes to its mail processing and transportation network as part of its Delivering for America plan. These changes include the consolidation of processing facilities and changes to transportation and collection schedules.

For live insects, transit time and temperature exposure are especially important, so we're adjusting our shipping practices accordingly.

🏤 Overnight Mail Holding

Changes to collection and transportation schedules can result in some mail being held overnight at local facilities before being transported to a processing center.

For live feeders, additional time in transit can increase exposure to unfavorable temperatures.

🚛 Processing Center Consolidation

USPS has been consolidating mail processing operations into larger regional facilities. Changes to transportation routes and processing locations can affect transit times, particularly for some rural and more remote areas.

Because we're shipping live animals, even small increases in transit time can matter.
